The Grit Ninja Games logo

Race, swing and move through obstacle courses at Croton Point Park in Croton-on-Hudson, and compete in the first ever Grit Ninja Games, presented by The Grit Ninja, Saturday, May 18. Registration is open!

Children and young adults ages nine and up can compete in various tournaments in divisions based on age. Celebrity ninjas from American Ninja Warrior and American Ninja Warrior Jr. including Daniel Gil, Vance Walker, Isaiah Thomas, and Isabella Wakeham will be available for meet and greets. The entire day will be fun for the whole family as there will be local food trucks, beginner ninja obstacles suitable for all ages, raffles, and a professional ninja racing competition for everyone to watch.

Various participation, spectating and $10 parking fees apply.
Rain date is Sunday, May 19.

patterns in nature exhibit with floral patterns

Patterns in Nature help visitors learn with hands-on activities, videos, multi-colored imagery and more. Hundreds of beautiful specimen plants, flowers and shrubs demonstrate each topic in six rooms. This vibrant journey features touch screens with interactive puzzle games that entertain children (suggested age 7+), while helping them understand pattern concepts. Lift boxes and an infinity “fun” room allow visitors to see how patterns relate to their everyday lives. Exhibit opens Saturday, March 16 and runs through June 16 at Lasdon Park and Arboretum in Katonah.

Trails Without LimitsThe Trails Without Limits program allows individuals who may be living with cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, amputation, paraplegia, arthritis, cardiac issues, joint replacements, or have other mobility concerns the opportunity to immerse themselves in Westchester County Parks by using an All-Terrain Trackchair.

The program will rotate throughout Westchester County Parks from March through November. Program is free. Learn more.

Park and Read

A captivating read-aloud initiative dedicated to instilling a passion for reading in young children, ages 3 - 6, during the spring season in the picturesque Westchester County Parks.

Running on specific dates, the Park and Read Program will feature interactive storytelling sessions. Renowned storytellers will once again bring stories to life, creating a vibrant and immersive environment for children and families to revel in the joy of reading.

Pre-registration for Park and Read is encouraged, walk-ins are welcome if space allows. The spring schedule for the Park and Read Program is as follows: 

  • Mondays, April 1, 8, 22 and 29; May 6, 13 and 20 and June 3, 2024.
