The 1,082 acre Sal J. Prezioso Mountain Lakes Park is Westchester’s northernmost county park. Acquired by the county in 1961, it is characterized by a rugged landscape and native hardwood forests, rock outcroppings, meandering streams, beautiful views, the highest mountain in Westchester County and miles of trails. Aptly named, the park boasts five lakes and a spectacular overlook which makes for breathtaking hiking destinations.
Camp Morty
Takes place each July and offers a quality outdoor sleep-away camp experience for children who are under the care of the Department of Social Services. Emphasis is placed on environmental awareness and sustainable living in a cooperative setting.
Mountain Lakes Park offers the total outdoor experience including camping, fishing, ice skating, hiking, nature exploration, snow-shoeing, cross-country skiing, picnicking and a high/low ropes challenge course.
Team Building
Looking for a fun way to foster teamwork between your employees or group? In addition to group camping, we have a ropes challenge course (reservations and instructor required) for organized groups. When you think of a ropes course you may think of cables hanging from the trees or maybe zip lining. Well, our ropes course does have a zip line, but in addition to high ropes it also consists of low ropes elements that accommodate people of all sizes, shapes and abilities. The elements vary in height from 1.5 feet to 50 feet above ground and foster teamwork through challenging situations in a safe and fun environment.
Organized Groups
Do you need a place for a large gathering or a place to take your school group, scouts or company? Our spacious and newly renovated Mess Hall is available for use by organized groups, accommodating up to 300 people. The commercial kitchen is available for use only with a licensed caterer or we can provide meals for you. If you are looking for an even bigger adventure, rent the yurt village for an overnight and an experience your group will always remember.
