Westchester County bicycle and fitness trails are open year round.

Updates on current conditions can be found below. Check trailway signage for information about temporary construction closures as well.

Bronx River Pathway

Please be aware that several bridges are closed:

A footbridge along the pathway between Harney Road and Ardsley Road.

  • Patrons can use the sidewalks on Garth Road to access the path both north and south. While the pathway will remain open, there is no through traffic access.

A small footbridge south of the Westchester County Center parking lot.

  • Patrons can use Bronx Street until they are able to rejoin the path.
South County Trailway

Currently under construction from Barney Street to 119 in Elmsford. The construction is scheduled to be finished in early 2022. Due to the nature of this work, there will be times when certain sections of the trailway will be closed to the public. Please respect the closures. While the South County Trailway is accessible at Warehouse Lane in Elmsford, parking is no longer available at this location.

Paved Bicycle and Pedestrian Paths
Bronx River Pathway

A paved, multi-use pathway spanning 11.2 miles long that parallels the Bronx River Parkway. Also a one-mile loop in Mount Vernon. Restrooms: at Information Center available during Bicycle Sundays only. (May through Oct., 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.)

North County Trailway

A paved, multi-use path that spans north through the heart of Westchester for 22.1 miles to the Putnam County border. North County Trailway parking locations.

Portable potties available dawn to dusk at the following parking lots - Eastview, Route 118 and Graham Hills.

A paved, multi-use trail 14.1 miles in length spanning central to southern Westchester.
