June 25, 2025 — Grab your blankets and lawn chairs, White Plains Hospital Screenings Under the Stars is back! Presented by Westchester County Parks and Sharc Creative, this free family-friendly movie series brings three lively feature films to Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla and Glen Island Park in New Rochelle. The fun kicks off Saturday, June 28, with Illumination’s Despicable Me 4 lighting up the big screen at Kensico Dam Plaza. The film follows Gru, Lucy, Margo, Edith and Agnes as they welcome a new member to the family, Gru Jr., who is intent on tormenting his dad. Gru faces a new nemesis in Maxime Le Mal and his girlfriend Valentina, and the family is forced to go on the run.
County Executive Ken Jenkins said: “All of the movies are enjoyable for children and adults alike, which makes them perfect ways to spend Saturday nights together in the summer. The novelty of watching a movie outside adds to the fun.”
Commissioner of the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation Kathy O’Connor said: “Kensico Dam Plaza and Glen Island are wonderful destinations for families seeking a memorable summer outing. Their blends of natural beauty and historical charm make them ideal spots for relaxation and wholesome fun.”
The rest of the lineup includes:
- Saturday, July 26 will feature Inside Out 2, also at Kensico. In it, Riley enters puberty and experiences brand new, more complex emotions. As she tries to adapt to her teenage years, her old emotions try to adapt to the possibility of being replaced.
- On Saturday, August 23, Moana 2 will be at Glen Island Park (Westchester residency is required.) It continues the adventures of Moana. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, she must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for a venture unlike anything she’s ever faced.
Admission and parking are free; movies start at dusk. Moviegoers should bring blankets, folding chairs and a picnic. Refreshments will be available to purchase. Movies may be canceled due to inclement weather.
Kensico Dam Plaza is located at the north end of the Bronx River Parkway, in Valhalla.
Glen Island Park is on Weyman Ave. in New Rochelle.
