Dec. 3, 2024 – Submit artwork and photography inspired by Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary, Saturday, Dec. 7 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Submissions will be featured in its upcoming Photography and Art Exhibit, Saturday, Dec. 14 through Saturday, Jan. 25.
The artwork and photography can include artwork and photography that was taken at The Sanctuary or inspired by it. Submissions must be framed and wired for hanging; only one photograph/art piece per person.
County Executive George Latimer said, “Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary is one of Westchester County’s most serene parks. Its variety of terrain, including the Long Island Sound shoreline and bamboo forest, are great subjects for art and photography.”
Deputy County Executive Ken Jenkins said, “Westchester County Parks are open year-round and offer activities indoors, including the Photography and Art Exhibit at Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary. The exhibit is a great way to learn about the parks in the cold months.”
Commissioner of the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation, Kathy O’Connor said, “The Photography and Art Exhibit at Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary is one of many programs run by the Conservation Division that showcases the beauty of our parks.”
The Photography and Art Exhibit, located in the Nature Center, will open Saturday, Dec. 14 at 1 p.m.; refreshments will be served. The exhibit will be on view through Saturday, Jan. 25. Edith G.
