November, 9, 2023 – The Holidays on the Hill Annual Train Show at Lasdon Park, Arboretum and Veterans Memorial in Somers returns Saturday, November 25 through December 31, and it will feature more trains, more exhibits and more holiday fun. And, of course, the jolly man in red himself, Santa, will be on hand to bring cheer to the festivities.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer said: “Lasdon Park and Arboretum is even more beautiful during the holiday season. It’s become a favorite tradition for families throughout Westchester and the surrounding area. We’re very proud of it and encourage residents to visit and get into the holiday spirit.”
Westchester County Parks Commissioner Kathleen O’Connor said: “Holidays on the Hill brings out the magic that makes this time of year so special—the twinkling lights, colorful decorations, vibrant flowers, traditional trains and comforting aromas. We create a peaceful atmosphere of optimism, joy, kindness and affection.”
Santa will eagerly hear children’s holiday wishes at select times in his cottage on Conservatory Plaza from Nov. 25 to Dec. 24. Kids can drop off their letters to him at the Elf Post Office or give it to the man himself during their visits!
The Conservatory will be transformed into a winter wonderland featuring whimsical holiday exhibits that lead to the Conservatory. Once inside, visitors will be surrounded by trains chugging along 12 multi-level tracks that run over bridges, through tunnels, under waterfalls and past quaint holiday scenes. Guests can revel in four Twilight Trains nights when the choo-choos will be aglow with radiant lights.
The show’s colorful characters and enchanting scenes will include all of Santa’s reindeer, playful snowmen who wave and tip their hats to passersby (watch out for the impish one who likes to lob snowballs at guests!), colorful flowers, beautiful botanical displays and twinkling lights.
Tickets will be sold online only with scheduled viewing times; no tickets will be sold on-site.
Tickets are available through December 31. Admission prices: $20 for adults, $15 for seniors (62 and up), $10 ages 2 through 12, and free for children under 24 months.
The exhibit is co-produced by Westchester County Parks and the Friends of Lasdon Park and Arboretum.
