Nov. 1, 2023 – A collection of nature-inspired artwork by several regional artists influenced by trees, Testament to the Tree, will be on display at the Gallery in the Park at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River beginning Saturday, Nov. 11, with the Opening Reception the same day, from noon to 3 p.m., which will include live music and refreshments.
The exhibit will feature a variety of media including paintings, photographs, graphic design and woodwork. The artwork will be accompanied by educational materials about trees. The exhibit will be on view daily through Sunday, Dec. 17.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer said, “Ward Pound Ridge Reservation is one of the County’s most versatile parks, allowing residents to visit for various recreational activities and view nature inspired artwork by local artists.”
Commissioner of the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation, Kathy O’Connor said, “The Art in the Park initiative at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation is a unique feature of the park and our park system as a whole. I encourage park goers to visit the exhibit.”
Park admission is free; parking fees are in effect weekends only: $5 with Park Pass, $10 without Park Pass.
Art in the Park features various exhibits that always include a connection to nature. This is demonstrated through different vehicles of art like sculpture, photography, paintings and additional forms of artwork. The program is headquartered at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation.
