Westchester County Executive George Latimer said, “Every country has its own unique culture. Irish culture is famous for music, dance, storytelling, and a language full of poetry. Ireland is also known for its long and fascinating history and people with a strong sense of community. I applaud the American Irish Association for honoring the Westchester County hospital workers for taking remarkable care of our families, friends and communities throughout the County.”
Westchester County Parks Commissioner Kathy O’Connor said, “The Irish Heritage Festival is one of my favorite events. I always enjoy exploring and learning new things about my own culture and family history. Through the years my father would gather my siblings (all nine of us) and share Irish myths, fables, poetry, rhymes and stories from years past about his family members. I cherish that time spent with my family. Come to Ridge Road Park and make some wonderful family memories of your own.”
