Hunting only permitted to registered members of the Westchester County Parks Adaptive Deer Management Program. Program is currently full.

In response to the recommendations of the Westchester County Citizen’s Task Force on White-tailed Deer and Forest Regeneration, and recognizing the success of regional municipalities with managing deer density, Westchester County will re-open sections of Muscoot Farm and Lasdon Park and Arboretum in Somers, Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River and Mountain Lakes Park in North Salem, Hilltop Hanover in Yorktown Heights and John E. Hand Bald Mountain Park in Yorktown for bow hunting deer from Oct. 1 to Dec. 31, 2020.

Sal J. Prezioso Mountain Lakes Park, Lasdon Park and Arboretum, Hilltop Hanover and Muscoot Farm seven days a week, 3:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

  • Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, hunting days will be Mondays through Fridays only, from 3:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • All parks will be closed to hunting Thursday and Friday, Nov. 26 and 27 for Thanksgiving weekend, and on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, December 24 and 25. Ward Pound Ridge Reservation (only) will be closed for hunting Monday, Oct. 12. 
  • John E. Hand Bald Mountain Park in Yorktown will continue to be open to select, assigned hunters.

The parks will remain open during the season and informational signs will be posted for hunters and park visitors. A detailed safety program will be in effect.
