June 15, 2023 – Check your bike tires, fill your water bottles, and tighten your bike helmets; Bicycle Sundays will continue in July!

The popular Westchester County tradition will extend its season for four more Sundays, July 9, 16, 23 and 30. There is no Bicycle Sunday on July 2.

Westchester County Executive George Latimer said, “Bicycle Sundays is one of Westchester’s most popular traditions and I’m excited to bring more Sundays to this year’s event. Come on out and ride along the scenic Bronx River Parkway.”

Commissioner of the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation, Kathy O’Connor said, “Bicycle Sundays is a great family activity and I encourage everyone to take advantage of the extended season!”

Chairperson of the Westchester Parks Foundation, Seth Mandelbaum said, “The Bronx River Parkway provides a magnificent setting for the iconic Bicycle Sundays program. We are thrilled that parksters of all ages can come back out in July to enjoy this 13-mile linear route for biking, running, rollerblading, walking and more.”

During Bicycle Sundays, a portion of the Bronx River Parkway is closed to cars from for the exclusive use of bicyclists, joggers, walkers, scooters and strollers. The course runs from the Westchester County Center in White Plains, south to Scarsdale Road in Yonkers, a round-trip of 13.1 miles. There are many points of entry and exit along the way. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Bicycle Sundays is presented by Westchester County Parks and sponsored by Westchester Parks Foundation and its partners, through generous donations from co-presenting sponsors NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester and Con Edison, with Jen’s Cycles in Yonkers as the official Bicycle Sponsor.
