June 15, 2023 – Join us to celebrate African-American culture and raise awareness about physical and mental health at the African-American Heritage Festival on Sunday, June 25 from noon to 6 p.m. at Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla.

Westchester County Executive George Latimer said, “African-American culture places an emphasis on support and care of family and the importance of community. Studies show a sense of community has a positive impact on mental health. I applaud the organizers of this festival for raising awareness about mental and physical health. Preventative health care can save lives and keep families together longer.”

Westchester County Parks Commissioner Kathleen O’Connor said, “We are excited to celebrate African-American heritage and culture at Kensico Dam Plaza. Gather with friends and family and enjoy music, dance, food and activities at this majestic park!”

There will be live entertainment, music, dance, drama, poetry, ethnic foods, line dancing, cultural arts and crafts, health vendors, educational vendors and much more!

The festival will be held rain or shine. Seating is informal; bring blankets or folding chairs for seating on the lawn. No coolers will be allowed. Admission and parking are free.
