March 14, 2023 – Westchester County Parks’ Learn to Swim program returns this summer for children ages three through 14, and new this year are sessions for adults, beginning at age 15. The program will take place at all four county-owned pools, with registration opening, Wednesday, March 15 at noon, and at a later date to be determined for Willson’s Woods.

Learn to Swim for children will be held in two sessions, Tuesdays through Thursdays, with session one beginning Monday, July 3 (no class Tuesday due to the holiday) through Thursday, July 20 and session two from Tuesday, July 25 through Thursday, Aug. 10. Class times to choose from are 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. for both sessions.

Learn to Swim for ages 15 and older will be held in two sessions, Saturdays and Sundays, with session one beginning Saturday, July 8 through Sunday, July 23 and session two will run from Saturday, July 29 through Aug. 13. Times for both sessions are 9:15 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Each session is $80 per person for both age groups.

Westchester County Parks Commissioner Kathy O’Connor said, “I’m excited to expand our Learn to Swim program to older children and adults this summer as water safety is important no matter how old you are.”

Learn to Swim will be held at Saxon Woods Pool in White Plains, Sprain Ridge Pool in Yonkers, Tibbetts Brook Pool in Yonkers and Willson’s Woods Pool in Mt. Vernon. For additional questions call (914) 231-4556.
