Summer is here and Hilltop Hanover Farm in Yorktown has several programs for children to enjoy! From caring for and harvesting vegetables, meeting animals, camp activities and more, there’s something to keep children of all ages busy and learning this summer!
- Farm Team | Tuesdays and Fridays, July 4, 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 25, 28 and Aug.1, 4. 9 a.m. to noon.
A program for inspired young farmers interested in working outdoors in the fields, weeding, watering, harvesting, and caring deeply for the vegetables we’re growing together. For ages 6 or older; $20 per person; registration required.
- Tiny Farmers | Tuesdays, June 27; July 11, 18, 25; Aug. 1, 8, 15, 22, 29. 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Meet the animals, play with seeds, discover new plants and taste fresh produce, get creative with flowers and herbs, and explore the forest trails. For ages 5 and under and their caregivers; $15 per family; registration required.
- Kids Farm to Table | Wednesdays, July 12, 26; Aug. 9, 23. 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Learn the relationship between real food and lifelong nutrition and health, and discuss the impacts of sustainable and organic practices, harvest ingredients together, and prepare a seasonal lunch in our farm kitchen. For ages 5 or older; $20 per person; registration required.
- August Camp | Monday through Friday, Aug. 7 through Aug. 11. 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Kids will explore the forest spaces, the growing spaces, meet the animals, play games, get dirty, plant seeds, pull weeds, and enjoy being outdoors in the best time of year. Bring your own lunch, water bottle, and snacks. We’ll provide tasty bites only from the fields! For ages 6 or older; $60 per day/$250 for the week; registration required.
