Learn the Benefits of Chair Yoga at The Westchester

Discover a new way that you can increase flexibility in your joints, decrease pain, relieve stress and feel renewed during a presentation on Chair Yoga, Friday, May 6, 9 a.m., at The Westchester in White Plains.

At all ages and in all conditions, yoga can help you relax and improve your sense of well-being. Chair yoga is a gentle yoga for those who may not have exercised regularly, have physical limitations, or find their body has less flexibility. This specially designed program provides the benefits of yoga in a gentle, non-strenuous way stressing breathing techniques and using chairs and other props. The presenter will be Sandra Bernstein, a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance. She has been practicing yoga for more than 10 years and is certified to teach hatha, gentle, chair and restorative yoga. Her specialty is working with seniors.

The program will be conducted at the Food Court on Level 4. Admission and parking are free for Be Fit members.
Sponsored by Westchester County Parks, the program offers year-round indoor health walking at Westchester’s premier mall on Tuesdays and Fridays, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

To join the mall walk program, sign up at the horse fountain plaza between Crate & Barrel and Restoration Hardware on retail level two of the mall, on Tuesday and Friday mornings during the program.
