EagleFest31View eagles and other raptors and birds of prey in their natural habitats, browse informational exhibits, enjoy live birds of prey programs and musical performances in heated tents, along with food and vendors celebrating our country’s national bird.

Eaglefest activities take place at Croton Point Park, Croton-on-Hudson on Saturday, Feb. 10, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.  The snow date is Sunday, Feb. 11.

• 25+ participating environmental organizations

Tickets

Advance sale tickets are $17 for adults, $10 children (ages 6 – 11) and children 5 and under are free. Tickets at the gate are $22 for adults, $12 for children and free for 5 and under.

2018VolleyballNineteen teams will take part in the Westchester County Coed Volleyball Tournament, Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 29 and 30, 2018, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., at the Westchester County Center in White Plains.

The tournament will be played in Round Robin format on Monday to determine the ranking of each team, with a double-elimination tournament for the championship round on Tuesday. The tournament will be played in two levels of competition: recreation and power recreation. Awards will be given to the winning teams and runners-up in each division.

Registration closed on Dec. 15. There will be no on-site registration.

The Coed Volleyball Tournament is sponsored by Westchester County Parks and the Westchester Parks Foundation.

The Westchester County Center is located at 198 Central Avenue in White Plains. Parking fees apply.

Mall Walk

Enjoy some window-shopping as you keep in shape during Mall Walks at The Westchester in White Plains. The program offers indoor health walking at Westchester’s premier mall on Tuesdays and Fridays, from 8 to 10 a.m. throughout the year.

A special guest speaker is presented on the first Friday of each month providing information on health issues, safety and nutrition. The talk takes place at 9 a.m.at the Level One Nordstrom’s E-bar seating area. Admission and parking are free for all registered members of the mall walk program.

To join, sign up at the horse fountain plaza near Crate & Barrel on Retail Level Two, on Tuesday and Friday mornings during the program.

Whether you prefer challenging trails through wooded areas or acres of open space to traverse, Westchester County parks and golf courses offer an ideal setting for cross country skiing. You must provide your own equipment. No rentals are available. Conditions permitting, cross country skiing is allowed seven days a week during daylight hours.

Note that sledding is allowed only at the parks indicated and at all golf courses.

Westchester County’s lakes and ponds provide ideal locations for scenic outdoor ice skating. As with skiing, you must bring your own skates. No rentals are available. Ice is checked daily at all locations for safety and conditions. When the white flag with the green ball or sign is posted indicating safe conditions, ice skating is permitted seven days a week during daylight hours. For your own safety, always check conditions before heading out to the park. For more information call (914) 864-PARK.

Admission is free except at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation where parking is $5 with a Park Pass, $10 without a pass.
