Group picnicking in county parksReservations for 2018 group picnics are open. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or call (914) 231-4575.

Whether you're planning a small family party for 10 or a company picnic for 500, Westchester Parks provide an ideal setting for your next group outing.

Conveniently located at some of the most scenic places in Westchester, each facility provides its own unique backdrop for a day of fun, food and relaxation. Whether you are looking for a shady area along the Hudson River, a breezy point on Long Island Sound, or a ballfield for the annual family softball game, you'll find the perfect spot in a county park.

Group Picnic Permits
A group picnic permit entitles you to exclusive use of an area of the park you choose, including grills and picnic tables. A permit is required for groups of 20 (15 at Glen Island Park) or more, but is also available to smaller groups as well. For an additional fee, you may use the pool, beach, ball field, boat launching ramp and miniature golf course where available. Parking fees are also charged at some parks. Covered pavilions are available at several park locations.

To book a reservation, call the Group Permits Office at (914) 231-4575, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays (except holidays).

Group permits can also be obtained at the parks department's offices at 450 Saw Mill River Road in Ardsley, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday (except holidays).

Ball Fields
In most parks, use of ball fields is on a first-come, first-served basis unless the field is part of the area reserved for a group picnic.

  • At Tibbetts Brook Park, three soccer fields at the south end of the park can be reserved for a fee of $75 per hour. Fees for the turf fields at the north end of the park are $65 per hour for either of the two smaller fields and $80 per hour for the larger field. Call (914) 231-4575 to reserve.
  • V.E. Macy Park in Ardsley has newly renovated ball fields available for a fee of $75 per hour. Call (914) 231-4575 to reserve.

Miniature Golf Courses
Miniature golf is also available by reservation for your group at Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers and Saxon Woods Park in White Plains. Special group rates are available. To arrange for a miniature golf group outing, call Saxon Woods at (914) 995-4480 and Tibbetts Brook at (914) 231-2865.

Playland Park
Catered outings for groups of 100 to 10,000 or more can be arranged in a reserved area. For more information, call the park directly at (914) 813-7016 or visit Playland Park.
